Why PADI Open Water Diver?

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular training option in the world. The Aquatic Center's course has developed into one of the best dive programs offered in the northeast, while maintaining the foundation provided by the PADI system of diver training. This certification level will allow you to dive with a buddy to a depth of 60 feet. If the Open Water course is not a fit for you, we offer several other training options:

What prerequisite's are there to learn to dive?

Virtually anyone in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can learn to scuba dive and earn a PADI certification. You will be required to complete a short medical form and complete a basic swim test.

What will I need to learn to scuba dive?

We will provide everything you need for the class and pool sessions. We highly recommend that you invest in your own mask, fins and snorkel at this time, but will provide them if needed.

How long will it take to become a certified Open Water Diver?

Our course consists of 8 hours of classroom learning and 8 hours of pool time over 4 evenings. Most students are very comfortable and ready for their open water dives at this point. Additional training time is made available as necessary. We offer several other training options:
